List of 118 Official Hotels for Universiade Announced — Starting from Just NT$630 per Night

The World University Games are set to make a grand debut next year, and the Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism officially unveiled the list of official partner hotels today (22nd)!The selection includes 118 hotels such as youth hostels, budget hotels, chain hotels, business hotels, and international tourist hotelswith the cheapest rate starting from just NT$630, all aimed at giving Universiade guests an unforgettable experience.

The 2017 Taipei Universiade will be held from August 19 to 30 next year across 79 venues in Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County and City, among others. Aside from athletes staying in the Athletes’ Village, all other accommodation needs will be met by the “Universiade Official Partner Hotels.” To enhance the city’s tourism soft power, the Department of Information and Tourism evaluated high-quality hotels based on multiple criteria including price and service, transportation convenience, and added-value offerings. Out of a total of 1,093 hotels across five counties and cities, 210 applied for selection, and 118 were chosen. The list also includes well-known hotel brands such as Sheraton, Grand Hotel, and Hotel Éclat Taipei.

To ensure comprehensive foreign language services, all selected official partner hotels offer seamless English communication. Additionally, 77 hotels can communicate in Japanese and 26 in Korean, while 8 are Muslim-friendly. The selected hotels will undergo a series of training sessions and sign a memorandum of cooperation with the city government before becoming official partner hotels. Universiade VIPs will then be able to choose their accommodations via a dedicated booking platform, selecting based on venue location, language options, price, and special services.
