The South China Sea Guanyin Culture Festival has been held six times at Xiqiao Mountain. Each autumn, the series of activities and various cultural feasts associated with the festival have helped the public understand and appreciate the charm of Guanyin culture, gradually making it a branded festival event at Xiqiao Mountain, widely recognized by tourists and devotees. It is understood that this 7th edition of the South China Sea Guanyin Culture Festival will adopt the theme "Prosperous China, Aspirations in the South China Sea," adding more innovative elements on the basis of previous editions.

The opening ceremony of the festival will feature a joint performance by a folk orchestra and the Lingnan Buddhist Music Orchestra, presenting a grand and magnificent Buddhist music event for devotees. The performance will be connected by lights symbolizing wisdom and Buddhism, creating a solemn and sacred Buddhist atmosphere.
The festival will also stage a theatrical performance themed around the legend of Guanyin Bodhisattva, telling the legendary story of Guanyin saving all beings. Integrating various art forms such as song, dance, music, and performance, the show features unique attempts and explorations in music, choreography, and stage design. The clever overall arrangement, the divine expressiveness of the performers' movements, and the boundless power of compassion demonstrate strong artistic charm and humanistic sentiment. Meanwhile, modern high-tech methods are used to create the ambiance of a sea-and-sky Buddhist realm, delivering a powerful visual impact and an immersive feeling of entering the Buddha’s world.

The host location of the festival, Xiqiao Mountain, is one of the important research sites for Chinese Guanyin culture. The world’s tallest Guanyin statue, located on Daxian Peak, the second highest peak of Xiqiao Mountain, is solemn, majestic, and grand—a must-visit place for learning about Guanyin culture. Xiqiao Mountain is a famous mountain in southern Guangdong, known for its stunning scenery, and is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. The ancient Baofeng Temple on Xiqiao Mountain, with a history of over 600 years, is one of the four famous temples in southern Guangdong and is a great destination for tourism and prayer.
