As of October 2017, there were 1,452 equestrian clubs nationwide; between 2016 and 2017, nearly 545 new equestrian clubs were established, with numbers continuing to rise.
Across equestrian clubs in China, the average annual growth rate of membership is 68%, with total club memberships exceeding 970,000.
The number of imported sport horses in China has surpassed 20,400, increasing at an annual rate of 2%.
Of the horses owned by domestic equestrian clubs, 63% are imported, while 37% are domestically bred.
