Live Nation today announced that Mike Shinoda, the visionary frontman and creative force behind the globally adored, multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park, will embark on the “After Trauma, Mercedes-Benz Presents” China tour. Making his solo debut in mainland China, he will perform songs from his upcoming new album Post Traumatic, as well as hits from Fort Minor and Linkin Park.

The China tour will take place on August 12 in Beijing and August 14 in Shanghai, with ticket prices ranging from 380 to 1280 RMB. Pre-sale begins on Friday, June 22 at 10:00 AM, while Live Nation’s official pre-sale starts on Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 AM. Fans can visit Damai.cn for ticketing information, and more updates will be available on Live Nation’s official WeChat and Weibo.

In the months following the passing of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, Mike channeled his grief into artistic creation, working alone in his Los Angeles home on music, recordings, and painting. In January 2018, he released the Post Traumatic EP, featuring three deeply personal songs that unflinchingly express his anguish and longing after Chester’s death. Mike also directed, shot, and edited the music videos for all three tracks himself, which garnered widespread acclaim. The New York Times praised the work, saying: “Haunting electronic elegies with deftly chosen rhymes in the choruses, the songs convey a turbulent mix of mourning, outrage, self-pity, and searching — for catharsis, for understanding.”

Following the EP, Mike continued creating and is now set to release his new album Post Traumatic, a raw and emotionally charged body of work. Though the title refers to “after trauma,” the songs aren’t solely about pain — rather, it serves as a point of departure. Mike explained: “It’s about moving through pain and darkness, not into it.” Ultimately, Post Traumatic is an album about healing. Although Mike briefly left Linkin Park in 2005 to launch his hip-hop project Fort Minor, Post Traumatic marks his first solo album under his own name. “Not just because it’s so personal, but because it doesn’t sound like Linkin Park,” Mike said. “I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, and I think that’s all going to come out in this record.”

In May, Mike performed at the free IDENTITY LA music festival in Los Angeles, and in August he’ll be playing at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival. “I’m looking forward to getting back to releasing music and touring — that’s my normal,” Mike said. “For years, my career has been built around that. I know it’s going to be different this time, and I’m excited to explore this new normal.”
