In June this year, the China Southern Airlines Travel Experts group took Flight CZ633 from Guangzhou to Nairobi. After an overnight rest on the plane, they arrived in Nairobi in the early morning local time, kicking off their Kenyan adventure to explore Africa. Throughout this Kenyan journey, the group encountered many interesting people and stories. They experienced some of Kenya’s most captivating landscapes, witnessed the awe-inspiring wildness and vastness of the African savannah, and captured the most pristine and untamed colors of Africa through their lenses.

Witnessing the “Big Five,” encountering nature’s raw wildness
The first stop for the China Southern Airlines Travel Experts group was a safari ride in a 4x4 vehicle across the Maasai Mara savannah, where they came face to face with the most iconic “Big Five” of this wild paradise—tracking wildlife such as elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions, and cheetahs, and savoring the most authentic taste of Africa. A leopard napping in a tree, a lion running with prey in its mouth, herds of elephants strolling across the plains—these vivid and real scenes were all captured by the group.
Letting loose to the rhythm of music in a traditional tribe was also a highlight of this African journey. During the safari in the savannah, the experts visited a local Maasai village along the way, letting go together with the legendary leaping Maasai people, and getting an up-close feel of Maasai culture and the mystery of primitive tribes.
Leaving the Maasai Mara savannah, members of the China Southern Airlines Experts group arrived at serene yet vibrant lakeside areas. Against the sunset, they walked through forests, and at Lake Nakuru, encountered numerous wildlife species including zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and pelicans; at Lake Bogoria, they witnessed a gathering of over 200,000 flamingos; and at Lake Naivasha, Kenya’s largest freshwater lake, they took boat tours to closely observe hippos in the lake, vultures overhead, and dead vines floating on the surface, enjoying a rare sense of peace and ease.
After experiencing the thrilling safari and witnessing the diverse beauty of the landscape, the final stop for the group was the Giraffe Manor near Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The manor is home to 130 rare Rothschild’s giraffes that are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every visitor gets to enjoy a “nose-to-nose greeting” with them. The harmony between humans and nature is the theme of the entire journey and also brought a perfect ending to the group’s Kenyan adventure.
Thus, the China Southern Airlines Travel Experts’ Kenyan journey came to a fulfilling close. Reflecting on the experience, the members expressed that they had not had enough and many said they were ready for a second visit.
