Charting a New Milestone in the Chinese Market
— Exclusive Interview with TRESPASS UK Representative Dai Pinghua

When discussing the Chinese outdoor market, Mr. Dai explained that there are not many hardcore outdoor enthusiasts in China. While the general public may feel curious when first trying outdoor activities, they often find that outdoor products are not very form-fitting after making a purchase. Some designs are too sporty and not very practical for everyday use. Therefore, for the Chinese outdoor market, the focus should be on urban and casual outdoor styles. The clothing consumers buy should not only serve outdoor purposes — featuring functions such as waterproofing, breathability, UV protection, and packability — but also be suitable for daily wear, whether for work or social events. Hence, the outdoor market in China should not be purely about outdoor gear, but rather evolve toward family-oriented, casual, and urban outdoor lifestyles.
