Qiandao Lake, located in Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province, is one of China's first national scenic areas. It is world-renowned for its unique landscape of "thousands of islands, pristine waters, and the golden belt." It also boasts a rich variety of cultural, culinary, leisure, and experiential tourism resources. Although Qiandao Lake already has abundant tourism offerings, there remain many unexplored or lesser-known natural outdoor resources.
In September 2018, the Qiandao Lake tourism destination will host the "Discover the Fun - Qiandao Lake" outdoor themed event. Organizers will invite several professional outdoor KOLs and short video influencers to join and support the event, while also extending an invitation to outdoor sports enthusiasts from all over the world to participate together.
During the event, participants will experience activities such as kayaking, hiking, and stream tracing. The activity routes will also feature orienteering competitions and short video challenges, among other engaging elements. There will also be surprise prizes and mysterious Easter eggs waiting to be discovered by participants.
Qiandao Lake Surfer Kayaking
Kayaking is a water-based outdoor sport that has quietly gained immense popularity in China in recent years. No professional experience is required to give it a try. You may have enjoyed the thrill of cruising on a yacht across lakes and rivers, but have you ever felt the serenity of sitting in the middle of a lake? Come aboard a kayak, get up close and personal with Qiandao Lake’s waters, and see the world from an aquatic perspective.
With sunlight filtered through the moist air at an altitude of 300 meters and lake water so clear it meets drinking standards, Qiandao Lake lets you effortlessly achieve a beautifully sun-kissed tan.
Qiandao Lake Grand Canyon Stream Tracing
Stream tracing is an adventure activity that involves traveling upstream from the lower reaches of a canyon stream, overcoming various terrain obstacles, exploring the source of the stream, and daring to conquer the peaks of mountain valleys. It combines comprehensive techniques such as hiking, rock climbing, camping, swimming, jumping into pools, rope work, wilderness survival, rapid maneuvers, orienteering, birdwatching, and more. Participants must overcome numerous challenges such as fast currents, rapids, deep pools, and waterfalls. Every step forward is filled with excitement, challenge, and thrilling adventure.
The Qiandao Lake Grand Canyon features steep cliffs, mountain waterfalls, stream beaches, and rock caves. It also offers a certain level of hiking difficulty. The constantly changing scenery along the way and the indescribable sense of untouched nature will surely leave you spellbound and filled with lasting memories.
Crossing the Ancient Shexian Ridge Trail
Shexian Ridge belongs to the Baiji Mountain Range and lies at the border between Nanyuan Village in Changgeng Township, She County, and Ye Si Village in Jiangjia Town, Chun'an County, at an elevation of 1,266 meters. From the foot of the mountain to the summit, you’ll pass through several climate zones. Here, there’s a thousand-year-old ancient stone-paved trail. If you’re used to walking on red carpets, you might dream of stone paths — here, you can make that dream come true.
An outdoor orienteering competition will be held in the ancient village: multiple checkpoint locations will be set up throughout the village. Participants will compete in team-based speed races, then depart in timed intervals based on their finishing order, heading to the Shexian Ridge Ancient Trail (with an approximate 20-minute drive in between). Upon reaching the foot of Ye Si Village, teams will begin their trek to the mountaintop, with the first team to reach the peak winning first place and receiving the reward of the best room type for that night.
The event combines outdoor orienteering with trail hiking. On-site KOLs and participants will need to complete checkpoint tasks and short video challenges, with specific rewards detailed in the offline event handbook. The journey is full of surprises and challenges.
Conquering Jinzijian Peak
Jinzijian Peak is located at the border between Zuokou and Wangfu townships, with an elevation of 1,450.8 meters. It is the highest peak of the Yuling Mountain Range within Chun’an County and is covered with pine trees, earning it the nickname "Huangshan of Western Zhejiang." The county annals record: "In the central peak, there is a round stone rising dozens of feet, smooth and shining without any vegetation. The two peaks beside it seem to bow down, and when the morning sun shines upon them, they emit a golden-purple shimmer." This is how Jinzijian Peak got its name.
During this event, participants will conquer the summit of Jinzijian Peak. As a little spoiler, the entire ascent and descent take about 7 hours — does that scare your legs weak? "The golden-purple shimmer," "the breathtaking view of pristine waters," — only by enduring hardships can you witness the most beautiful landscapes of the land.
