Following the "One Phone to Travel Yunnan" initiative, Tencent Cloud announced a collaboration with Wulong District in Chongqing, joining forces with business teams such as Tencent Dayout and Tencent Culture & Tourism, to launch "One Phone to Travel Wulong." The goal is to jointly create the nation’s first regional-level all-for-one smart tourism platform. As an important component of the Wulong project — the trial version of the Tencent Cloud Smart Tourism Assistant mini-program — made its debut at the first China International Intelligent Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the Smart Expo), earning praise for its numerous innovative features.
Intelligent, integrated, and comprehensive regional tourism companion services

In the Tencent Cloud Smart Tourism Assistant mini-program, the core scenic spots of Wulong District are presented via fun hand-drawn maps. Well-known characters from the popular mobile game Honor of Kings and capabilities from Tencent Maps have also been integrated to offer tourists joyful voice narrations and task-guided exploration.
During their travels, visitors do not need to download any apps. By scanning a QR code to access the WeChat mini-program, they can instantly view multiple personalized recommended travel routes. The service includes in-scene information queries, intelligent assistance, nearby consumption options, entertainment sharing, and fun mini-games, covering an integrated all-for-one regional tourism companion experience — dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment — thus significantly elevating the overall travel experience.
Intelligent, all-region, and ecosystem-oriented tourism service management system
Addressing the pain points faced by government management departments and scenic area operators — such as fragmented tourism industry resources and the need for upgraded tourist consumption experiences — the scenic area big data management backend and integrated ecosystem services provided by the Tencent Cloud Smart Tourism Assistant mini-program will meet the needs of scenic areas for achieving intelligent, all-region, and ecologically closed-loop management.
On one hand, the Tencent Cloud Smart Tourism Assistant mini-program helps connect users and merchants, as well as content and merchandise within the scenic area. Tourists’ needs related to dining, accommodation, and transportation can also be fulfilled within the mini-program’s closed loop. This greatly supports the development of a high-quality, reliable, and more convenient all-region tourism service system for the scenic area.
On the other hand, leveraging Tencent Cloud’s computing and big data capabilities, data generated by tourists using the mini-program — including evaluations of consumption services and questions asked — will be digitally fed back. This provides data-driven insights for precise marketing strategies for both the scenic area and downstream tourism-related enterprises, propelling the comprehensive upgrade of Wulong’s tourism management and achieving high-quality transformation from a ticket-based economy to an industry-driven economy.
Tencent Cloud’s vision for building a mutually beneficial tourism ecosystem
The launch of the Tencent Cloud Smart Tourism Assistant mini-program marks a new exploration in smart tourism by Tencent Cloud. Going forward, Tencent Cloud will continue to integrate its strengths, including distinctive Tencent cultural IP, AI, big data, and Tencent Maps, to further advance the supply-side upgrade of tourism products and services. It will also empower more government departments and scenic area managers, develop internet-based value-added tourism services, and provide tourists with intelligent, personalized new travel experiences, thereby building a new smart tourism ecosystem.
As Wang Tao, Vice President of Tencent Cloud, explained, "Smart tourism is a comprehensive scenario that blends innovative technologies and user services. We have the capability and confidence to deliver our value. Throughout this process, we insist on governments and the tourism industry taking the lead — in today’s popular terms, 'occupying the center stage.' Tencent will play the role of a supporting character, assistant, and toolbox, growing together with the industry."
