Walking up the narrow stone staircase, a golden four-faced Buddha comes into view. The bold and vibrant orange is the main color scheme of Villa115. Unlike Japanese or Chinese-style homestays, it brings the passionate Nanyang style to the mountainside of Jiufen. The living room features rattan chairs and installation art, while carefully curated music plays from the bar counter, making you feel as if you've truly arrived on a tropical island. The owner has utilized the space under the stairs to place a Western-style heater. At first glance, it seems a bit out of place, but it gives this area its own unique character, often drawing amused smiles from guests who initially assume it's just for show. However, the owner reveals that during cold snaps, charcoal is burned inside for warmth and air circulation.

 

Villa115 uses simple design to express its philosophy on life, and employs colors to distinguish its rooms: the Green Room features floral table lamps and leaf-like shell lamps, like a forest from a fairy tale; the Red Room combines fiery red hues with iron-framed furniture for a passionate yet cozy feel; the elegant Purple Room is a dreamy favorite among girls; and the refreshing Blue Room offers a cooling visual experience, as if you’re lounging on a Villa115 beach, creating a truly uplifting ambiance.

Besides the Nanyang-inspired design, even the breakfast carries a taste of the tropics—toast spread with authentic buttery spreads, Western-style scrambled eggs sprinkled with zesty Nanyang spices, and drinks that aren’t coffee but rather sweet, creamy, and non-cloying teh tarik, marking a fresh new chapter for your journey.
