Starting July 2, the entire Taiwan region will continue to be influenced by southwest winds. The weather in the Taipei-Keelung-New Taipei-Taoyuan area will remain unstable in the afternoons throughout the week, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 27–33°C, feeling hot and muggy. In New Taipei and Taoyuan, temperatures may soar up to 35°C on Monday and Tuesday — be especially cautious of heatstroke.

Miaoli and central Taiwan will also experience rain in the afternoons. On Monday, there’s a likelihood of rain throughout the day in central and southern regions. Southern areas such as Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung will have rainy weather all week. Travelers planning to visit these places should pay special attention to the weather, carry rain gear, and prepare for rainy-day alternatives.

In eastern Taiwan, Yilan will have rainy weather from Monday to Friday. Hualien will see frequent afternoon thunderstorms from Monday to Thursday, while Taitung will enjoy sunny, fine weather. Those planning to visit Taitung to sightsee or attend the Hot Air Balloon Festival should take care to protect against sun exposure and stay hydrated.
