Majestic Cinema Halls Closed Without Warning — 60% of Screens Unavailable for Viewing

Starting June 18, Majestic Dazhi Cinema abruptly canceled a large number of screenings without prior notice to ticket-holding members, leaving many people to make the trip in vain. The cinema also posted a notice stating that due to a projection system malfunction, only four out of its total ten halls remain operational.

The headquarters of Majestic Cinemas also confirmed that the issue was caused by internal boardroom conflict — a dispute between the old and new management teams, resulting in the departure of all full-time supervisors, leaving only part-timers to handle consumers and manage the aftermath. Many visitors arrived at the site only to find that movie titles and screening times had disappeared, realizing the screenings had been canceled at short notice.

The cinema also posted a notice on-site, stating that due to a projection system anomaly, some screenings could not be provided. Those who have already purchased tickets can apply for refunds or exchanges. The unexpected closure of cinema halls has affected around 30 movie screenings per day. Visitors planning to watch a movie at Majestic recently are advised to confirm the schedule before going.
