Last updated 2026-11-08 — The location is extremely hidden — it’s said even locals in Tainan can’t find it easily. This bakery only operates for four hours a day, committed to natural handmade production with no chemical additives. Supplies are limited daily, and people start queuing up even before it opens. Once it starts selling, everything sells out in minutes. Without a reservation, it’s almost impossible to get a taste.

This bakery is only open for four hours a day. It insists on using all-natural, handmade ingredients with no chemical additives. Supplies are limited daily, and people start queuing up even before it opens. Once it does, everything sells out in minutes — it’s nearly impossible to get a spot without a reservation.

The location is very hidden. It’s said even locals in Tainan can’t find it easily. Remember to look for the sign of Mei Yu Herb Shop at the alley entrance and turn in — that’s the way.

The alley is very narrow. Please enter on foot, not by scooter or bike.

People are already lining up before the shop opens. The moment it does, everyone starts grabbing whatever they can — no politeness here. If you’re too slow, you really might miss out. Fortunately, the shop posts its offerings for the next day on its Facebook page at 7 PM every evening. Those who really want to try it can book online in advance. Many regulars check the page religiously every night at 7 PM. Often, within ten minutes of the post going up, everything is booked.

Pork Floss Bread Roll: The bread is soft yet slightly chewy, paired with pork floss from the local veteran brand Fu Xiang. It’s bursting with aroma and gets more delicious the more you eat.

Cheese Toast: The toast is rich with sourdough flavor, offering a hint of wheat aroma. Its texture is soft, fluffy, and elastic. Paired with cheese, it gets more flavorful the more you chew.
