Even bigger than those abroad—Taoyuan’s new highlight “Heart Lock Pathway” features giant heart-shaped locks

Just as there are love-lock bridges abroad and the weight-bearing heart-lock bridge in Fengyuan, Taichung, now Taoyuan also welcomes its own “Heart Lock Pathway.” Strolling hand-in-hand with your loved one through it at night is truly romantic.The Heart Lock Pathway at Sanmin Park features 10 semi-circular gates, each topped with an oversized heart lock, each with different patterns and heartfelt love quotes. Couples can bring their own locks, inscribe their names and sweet words, then secure them to the nearby iron fence and throw away the key, symbolizing their steadfast devotion to each other.

Aside from the Heart Lock Pathway, other installations such as a large red double-heart “Love” character, hollow metal balls made of heart patterns, a four-leaf clover pavilion, and a Happiness Plaza have turned Sanmin Park into a new hot spot for couples’ dates and photo opportunities.

Taoyuan’s Sanmin Park is a popular weekend spot for locals to exercise. Cycling enthusiasts can ride along the Nanxi Riverside Bicycle Path, which stretches 15 kilometers through Taoyuan, Guishan, and Luzhu—it’s Taoyuan’s first riverside cycling trail. With YouBike rental stations located all over Taoyuan, it’s perfect for planning a family-friendly bike adventure.
