Hydrangea Sea Draws Traffic Jam; Holiday Traffic Control Info at Zhuzihu

With hydrangeas in full bloom near Zhuzihu in Yangmingshan, flower enthusiasts are flocking to the mountains to admire their dreamlike splendor. The surge in visitors has made many hydrangea fields a popular spot for photos. To avoid congestion during holidays, the Public Transport Bureau has implemented weekend traffic controls.

In line with the hydrangea sea blooming period in Zhuzihu, the Public Transport Bureau has decided to enforce a six-week traffic control from May 19 to June 24 on consecutive holidays in the Zhuzihu area and Yangde Boulevard. Travelers wishing to view the flowers are encouraged to use public transport or shuttle buses to reach the site, to avoid disappointment.

Time: 2018/5/19-20, 5/26-27, 2018/6/2-3, 6/9-10, 6/16-18, 6/23-24
Yangmingshan Control Time and Area:
1. Mountain Entry Control Points: 8:00–15:00 at “Yangde Boulevard & Zhicheng Intersection” and “Section 2 of Zhishan Road, Lane 1 Intersection”
2. Mountain Exit Control Points: 14:00–18:00 at “Yangming Road & Zhongheng Street Intersection” and “Gezhi Road & Kaisyuan Intersection”
Zhuzihu Area Road Control:
Time: 9:00–18:00
1. From Hutian Bridge westward along the Calla Lily Boulevard to the fork leading to Zhongzheng Mountain, flexible one-way clockwise traffic control will be enforced
2. Eastbound from Hutian Bridge is two-way, with red lines painted along both sides of the road
3. The Dinghu section is one-way only and U-turns are prohibited; vehicles must exit via Shiban Road toward Yangjin Highway
