Taiwan’s mountainous regions are rich in vegetation, where hikers can enjoy ever-changing landscapes such as sea of clouds and forests. The Dakeng Scenic Area in Taichung is a popular destination for hikers and a key leisure spot. It features the most distinctive 12 hiking trails, among which Trail No. 2 offers an aerial forest walkway with a full panoramic view of the valley’s beauty.

The elevation of Dakeng Trail No. 2 ranges between 445 to 745 meters. The trail includes two sections of steep slopes with angles of 60 to 80 degrees, known as the "Heroes Slope," requiring hikers to pull themselves up using ropes and carefully step on wooden ladders, challenging both stamina and physical strength. It’s suitable for adventurers or those looking to train their fitness.

The Dakeng Scenic Area is like Taichung’s backyard garden. Its 12 hiking trails are built along the natural terrain where mountains and streams intertwine. The highest elevation reaches 859 meters. Among them, Trails No. 1 to 5 and 5-1 are more challenging for hikers, while Trails No. 6, 7, 8, 9, and 9-1 are better suited for hikers of all ages.
