Hong Kong’s renowned “Chee Kei” wonton noodles is one of the city’s most popular wonton noodle shops. It won the Gold Award in the Wonton Noodles category at the Hong Kong Food Carnival in 2001 and was also honored as one of the first Michelin-recommended local cuisine restaurants in Hong Kong in 2008. This authentic Hong Kong Chee Kei wonton noodles shop is making its Taiwan debut in April, opening its first store in a Taiwanese department store.
Established in 1994, Chee Kei specializes in wonton noodles, with side offerings including congee, sweet soups, rice dishes, and snacks. The chain currently has eight branches, located on Percival Street in Causeway Bay, Langham Place in Mong Kok, Telford Plaza in Kowloon Bay, Kowloon Tong, Lock Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, Connaught Road Central in Central, as well as at Hong Kong International Airport and Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan. Its newest location at Taipei Main Station under Breeze Shopping Mall marks its ninth branch and its first in a Taiwanese department store.

The most famous dish at Chee Kei is its wonton noodles, featuring hand-made wontons shaped like goldfish. The wontons are known for their thin wrappers and fresh fillings, and the broth is simmered using a proprietary recipe with ingredients such as pork bones, flounder, and shrimp shells. This has enabled Chee Kei, despite not being an old-established brand, to become a representative of local life and cuisine in Hong Kong.
