Ayame Goto endorses Taiwan tourism again with all major Taiwanese attractions featured

Ayame Goto, a highly popular Japanese celebrity well-known in Taiwan, was invited to serve as the tourism ambassador for Taiwan in Japan last year, and has been reappointed this year. A brand-new promotional video was released in 2018.

In the new promotional ad, Ayame Goto, dressed in retro-fashion style, travels through famous attractions across Taiwan, including the Three Gorges Old Street, Gaomei Wetlands, Rainbow Village, as well as Kaohsiung’s Liuhe Night Market and various traditional temples in Tainan.

The premiere, originally scheduled for February this year, was postponed after multiple discussions in order to prioritize the recovery of Hualien. Ayame Goto continues last year’s “Meet Colors ! Taiwan” promotional theme, while this year conveying an even more colorful and captivating image of “New. Taiwan－Taiwan+”.

The full 2018 promotional video was filmed at the end of last year, and was launched alongside four print visual designs themed around food, shopping, wellness, and romance, representing various colorful sceneries developed from these themes, with Ayame Goto interacting with large watercolor paints.

After last year’s promotional video aired in Japan, the number of Japanese tourists visiting Taiwan increased by 5%, yielding unexpectedly positive results, hence Ayame Goto has been invited to continue her role this year. She portrays a traveler journeying through different spots across Taiwan, interpreting the maturity of old streets, the vibrancy of military dependents’ villages, the serenity of _o Lake, the solemnity of temples, and the liveliness of night markets.
