The 2018 Fulong Sand Sculpture Festival Unveils Eye-Catching Inverted Underground Creations

The annual Fulong Sand Sculpture Art Festival is a major summer highlight, and this year’s event will run from April 21 to July 15. Not only will there be up to 76 sand sculptures from both domestic and international artists, but the festival will also premiere an unprecedented “underground sand sculpture” experience, allowing visitors to hide within or even touch the sculptures themselves for a deeper level of interaction..

The 2018 Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival enters its 11th edition, with this year’s theme being “Golden Sand Odyssey – A Voyage of Love and Courage.” The sand artworks unfold like pages from a nautical map, starting from Guishan Island, traveling through six counties and ten islands of Taiwan, then venturing to global islands, and finally reaching the underwater city at the Northeast Coast, offering visitors a rich eco-art tourism experience.

Additionally, the most special highlight of this year is the debut of the “underground sand sculpture,” which not only presents the astonishing novelty of inverted sculptures extending downward but also includes interactive creations loved by visitors of all ages. Guests can walk through the sculptures, even touch their surfaces, enjoying an immersive and intimate sand art experience that is truly breathtaking. There will also be a collection of unique island creations crafted by top artists from around the world, adding to the excitement of this year’s festival.
