Taiwan's version of Kanazawa Garden creates new highlights – a Japanese-style landscape farm that's even more beautiful at night

Taiwan's version of Kanazawa Garden, the Chenglin Aquilaria Scented Forest Museum, is located in Huwei, Yunlin. Originally, it was only free to enter until the end of 2017. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from visitors, it remains free to enter for now, and it has been announced that nighttime landscape lighting will be installed by the end of April, after which the park will also open to visitors in the evening, though a small entry consumption fee will be charged.

Covering an area of approximately 5.8 hectares, the Chenglin Aquilaria Scented Forest Museum is Asia’s only aquilaria ecological park. Outdoors, there is an elegant Japanese garden, a sand play area, and the most eye-catching feature — a large landscape ecological pond known as the “Mini Water Central.” The park’s Japanese Zen-style landscaping is simple and elegant, with over 80 varieties of trees planted in the garden for visitors to enjoy.

Indoors, there are various exquisitely crafted wooden artworks, including the world’s largest thousand-year-old sacred tree from Alishan and a two-story-high thousand-year-old aquilaria wood. It is a high-quality aquilaria ecological park that combines nature, environmental protection, and excellence, and has become a new photo spot for travelers visiting Yunlin.
