Riverside Pink Flower Sea: Magnificent Blooms of Scarlet Trumpet Trees, a New Hotspot for Flower Viewing

Every spring, besides admiring the delicate beauty of pink cherry blossoms, the scarlet trumpet trees are also a must-see spectacle of the season. Along the riverside near Zhongzheng Senior High School in Kaohsiung’s Qianzhen District, rows of trumpet trees are romantically in full bloom. Coupled with the beautiful riverside scenery, they create the most picturesque view along Kaohsiung’s riverbanks. Strolling through it feels like stepping into an idol drama scene.

The trumpet trees resemble large pom-poms hanging from the treetops. When in full bloom, the scenery becomes vibrant and colorful, attracting visitors to stop and admire or take photos. Trumpet trees come in varieties including peach-red, golden-yellow, and pinkish-scarlet. They are often planted separately along roadsides and in parks across different districts, blooming successively from around Lunar New Year until April.
