Japan’s famous tourist attraction “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route,” known as a once-in-a-lifetime snow-white spectacle, will open on April 15 this year. Online tickets for 2018 are now available for purchase, and the official site also notes that snowfall this year is particularly heavy, with significant snow remaining until mid-July. From June to July, visitors can experience “summer snow.”

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route opens on April 15. The great snow valley is open from April 15 to June 22, allowing visitors to walk through and admire the famous snow walls. Known as the “Japanese Alps” or the “Roof of Japan,” the route is located at an altitude of 2,450 meters at Murodō Plateau. With one of the world’s rarest and heaviest snowfalls, snow accumulation can reach up to 20 meters. After snow removal, the spectacular 500-meter stretch is famously known as the “Great Snow Valley.”

Visitors can get off at the great snow valley to take a stroll, experiencing the feeling of being surrounded by towering snow walls. As you walk, you can admire the white snow walls reaching dozens of meters high on both sides, with the breathtaking view filled with the romantic atmosphere of a silver-white snow world. You can also visit other scenic spots in Tateyama to enjoy more natural wonders.
