A great one-day family trip to enjoy flowers: Yilan Green Expo offers sweeping grassland views

The 2018 Yilan Green Expo has entered its 19th year this time, integrating the accumulated essence and energy of green living from the past, continuing the experience from 2017, and being grandly held at the Dongshan River Eco Park. The organizers aim to encourage low-carbon travel by recommending that visitors take public transportation, and offering free admission with ticket stubs, helping many families save on entrance fees. There is also a combined two-park ticket package with the Traditional Arts Center.

The Yilan Green Expo runs from March 31 to May 13, initially setting up three major themed areas near Dongshan Railway Station and the Eco Park: "Dreaming Countryside," "Hoe Classroom," and "Eco Green Park." Through crop experts and exhibition zones, it conveys the educational significance of friendly farming and green tourism.

This year’s Green Expo connects with the global theme by practicing "Green Action" and promoting Earth Day’s theme of "Ending Plastic Pollution." As a result, the park will not sell bottled water or disposable utensils this year. Low ticket prices are set, with general admission just 100 NTD, and visitors are encouraged to take public transportation and can enter for free with their ticket stubs.

In addition, the county government has partnered with the National Center for Traditional Arts to launch a "Two-Park Ticket Package." Purchased before the end of March, it allows entry to both the Green Expo and the National Center for Traditional Arts for just 150 NTD, plus a bonus 100 NTD value iPass electronic card.
