As a top summer travel destination, Thailand is certainly among the best—not only for its vibrant water activities, but also for its tangy and refreshing Thai cuisine that’s simply irresistible. This year, David Thompson, the Australian founder and head chef of the famous London-based restaurant nahm, will expand the nahm brand to Bangkok for the first time. Using fresh local ingredients sourced from markets, he will bring them into his kitchen to create exquisite, Michelin-star-worthy Thai dishes.

David Thompson is an award-winning Australian chef. His original nahm restaurant in London became the first Thai restaurant in Europe to earn a Michelin star in 2002. Teaming up once again with his Thai business partner of 20 years, Tanongsak Yordwai, Thompson is bringing authentic, carefully crafted Thai cuisine to discerning food lovers. The new restaurant exudes a relaxed and comfortable vibe, with home-style dishes that are hearty, rich, and genuine—plus an array of starters that make guests feel right at home. During the meal, knowledgeable local servers provide in-depth descriptions of each dish, offering diners a complete experience of Thompson’s exceptional culinary skills.

Bangkok’s nahm is located within The Metropolitan Bangkok, a stylish hotel situated in the prime area of South Sathorn Road in the city center. The hotel is part of COMO, an internationally renowned hotel management group known for its boutique design. The entire building boasts a sleek, modern design aesthetic. The nahm restaurant itself was designed by the acclaimed Japanese interior architect Koichiro Ikebuchi, blending natural wood elements, private space-defining screens, natural hues of orange and brown, and gleaming bronze plates on the tables—melding contemporary style with traditional charm. Natural light fills every corner of the restaurant, and in the evening, the soft glow from the adjacent outdoor pool subtly filters in, creating an enchanting ambiance.

Bangkok’s nahm features a VIP room and a platform dining area, and its atmosphere and dishes are sure to become a major culinary highlight in the city. Signature dishes include extremely spicy fish curry, southern-style turmeric and coconut shrimp paste, and northern-style grilled red chili with tomatoes. There are also a variety of colorful Thai desserts created by Tanongsak. The set menu is priced at 1,800 Thai baht per person.
