Meet at Xitou Mitai and experience the European romance of a idol drama firsthand
Renowned for its vast expanses of precious tree species such as red cypress, ginkgo, and hinoki, Xitou features towering, cool green tunnels of forest and scenes where the green of the grass spills into view—it’s one of the most enchanting spots for a forest bath. The currently airing idol drama on Anhui TV in mainland China, "Happiness is Guaranteed," uses Xitou Mitai Hotel as a filming location, successfully portraying the dramatic conflicts of a love quadrangle among the hotel's wealthy second-generation characters. The palace antique furniture suite at Xitou Mitai Hotel, which offers a view of the bamboo sea, is the very European noble room where the hotel CEO character stays—the entire room’s decor was almost created specifically for the idol drama. When the production team scouted filming locations, they found that every angle of Mitai Hotel fit seamlessly into the drama, requiring no relocation or additional decoration—the hotel itself was already perfectly atmospheric.
This year, Canxing Travel has partnered with Xitou Mitai Hotel to launch the “Chasing Stars Special,” available from now until June 30. Book a classic double room inclusive of breakfast and two lunches—at NT$4,999 per room on weekdays and NT$8,579 per room on holidays—and receive two dinners for free, allowing fans to also experience the elegant and stately scenes from the idol drama. Early summer is also the season when the successfully revived fireflies in the water are thriving. In addition to joining the firefly guided tour, you can also take a leisurely stroll along the bamboo forest trail to personally experience the filming locations of the idol drama.
