Spanning approximately 1,300 years from ancient times to the present, Nara and Kyoto were once the capitals of Japan. The KANSAI THRU PASS allows unlimited rides on trains, subways, and buses in the Kansai region within its validity period, making it an excellent value travel ticket. In addition to JR trains, the KANSAI THRU PASS allows free rides on trains and buses operated by 42 companies in the Kansai region. The pass is available in 2-day (3,800 yen) and 3-day (5,000 yen) versions. From July 15 to September 15, tourists who purchase the KANSAI THRU PASS through participating travel agencies for their Kansai trip can receive an event stamp card. The stamp card details the locations of historical streets commemorative stamps. Choose 2 or 3 areas among the six regions—Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, and Shiga—to collect 3 stamps, then visit the event final stop, the Nanba Information Center of Nankai Electric Railway, to receive a limited-edition Japanese-made “Detour Little Witch Scarf” (limited to 1,000 pieces). Complete the questionnaire on the back of the card to enter a lottery for a chance to win a beautifully designed historical streets commemorative postcard set.
