Summer getaways make me crave restaurants full of island flair—especially refreshing after water activities, creating a relaxing, vacation-like atmosphere. Tucked away in Kenting’s Banana Bay, the quaint little eatery—“Beach Bistro”—has only been open for a little over two years but has already gained significant online fame. It has been featured in major magazines and on popular bloggers’ platforms, and was even highlighted on the well-known TV show “Food Safari.” It’s undoubtedly one of the most popular spots around.

Pan-seared chicken thigh served with French Dijon mustard seed sauce and yogurt pasta is simply mouthwatering.

Beach Bistro is a bit off the bustling Kenting Main Street. The cool owner, inspired by the French concept of an owner-chef running the entire show, named the place “Bistro.” He also travels to France every year to learn new dishes and brings back unique local spices, showing genuine dedication to the flavors he offers.

The white wine clams pasta comes with generously portioned clams, making it one of the restaurant’s fan favorites.

The bistro’s decor follows a Mediterranean style, featuring blue and white walls and eaves that complement Kenting’s sunny weather—perfect for photos no matter how you shoot them. The interior walls are covered with colorful seashells, and tables and shelves are adorned with nautical-style decorations such as model sailboats, hand-painted mugs, and hibiscus flowers, all contributing to a bright, vacation-ready vibe.

The most ordered dessert here is the Wine-Flavored Grilled Ice Cream. The cool vanilla ice cream must be eaten together with the piping hot crepe base underneath, mixed with chocolate chips and a hint of wine. The multi-layered textures and the contrast between the cold ice cream and hot crepe create a flavor explosion in your mouth—you’ll never forget it after just one bite.

When visiting Kenting, it’s all about soaking up that laid-back, vacation vibe. If you’re heading to Beach Bistro during the peak summer season, be sure to book ahead or you might miss out on a table.

Beach Bistro can accommodate about 30 guests and is often fully booked.
