Breezy Summer Nights at the 2010 Luodong Fringe Festival "Mischievous Monkey Carnival"

The "Luodong Fringe Festival" has entered its ninth year, offering spaces for performances in music, dance, theater, and other art forms each year. With various art troupes taking turns to perform, it allows the public to experience the art of play and local culture. This year’s festival runs until August 21st and features creative workshops, art blogs, the Mischievous Monkey Stage, the Children’s Story House, street performers, and the Mischievous Monkey Night, among others. These events take place across Luodong, bringing a lively atmosphere to the summer nights.

The "Mischievous Monkey Party" is a nighttime street parade organized by acrobatic artists and municipal teams. From July 20th to August 20th, every evening from 7:30 to 9:00 PM, a grand procession takes place on Xingdong Road in front of Zhongshan Park. Led by a fire dance team, the parade includes professional dance troupes, samba drummers, distinctive community development associations, and the monkey-themed float, turning Luodong’s streets into a carnival-like celebration.

Meanwhile, the carnival and Fringe Night on August 21st are the grand finales, with many domestic and international groups joining in the festivities. The fun continues from day till night, bringing a perfect close to this year’s Fringe Festival.
