“Taro” the Marvelous: The Dashia Artisans’ “Three-Act Net Fishing” Event
Do you know about Dashia’s agriculture, fishing industry, and cultural highlights? Visit the “Three-Act Net Fishing & Taro Delights Exhibition and Sales Event” in Dashia Township on September 11–12 (Saturday and Sunday) for a variety of packaged tours, exciting challenge games, and painting competitions, allowing the public to experience the local pastoral scenery and taste specialty agricultural products.

This event is divided into a beachside net fishing package tour and on-site activities. The beachside net fishing package includes rush-weaving in an ancient warehouse, artisanal gourmet meals, DIY taro and sweet potato balls, and the three-part ocean net fishing experience. Dashia is one of the well-known taro-producing areas, and families can enjoy delicious, chewy taro balls while making them, then finish off with a local specialty dish—taro rice—for a unique flavor.
The on-site activities include a painting competition for children celebrating the beauty of leisure agriculture, encouraging kids to sketch the vitality of farming, forestry, fishing, and animal husbandry to broaden their understanding of local culture. Additionally, participants who complete the challenge games will receive commemorative stamps. With “fun, food, and freebies,” the event boosts the prosperity of tourist spots, attracts visitors to engage in rural leisure activities, and revitalizes agriculture.
