Relive childhood memories at the 2010 Shimen International Kite Festival

Whether you're young or old, kites swaying in the wind are sure to be part of everyone's childhood. Enjoy the joy of flying kites with family and friends. This year marks the 11th edition of the "2010 Shimen International Kite Festival in New Taipei City", gathering participants from over 10 countries and 30 teams. Around 200 domestic and international kite experts will compete on the same stage, promising an exciting event. Parents can bring their kids to Shimen Township Kite Park on September 18 and 19 to relive those cherished childhood memories.
Countries participating this year include the United States with its "Double Delta-Conyne kites", Japan with traditional Japanese kites, Spain with its award-winning "giant caterpillar kites", Malaysia with its "large soft floating kites" and "candy kites", as well as mainland China’s nationally renowned kite master Li Xiaohu showcasing “kites with spinning car wheels”. Shenzhen Women’s Stunt Kite Team will also perform, breaking away from the conventional image of traditional kites and offering the public a brand-new experience.

In addition to enjoying the brilliant performances, visitors can also join activities such as "Kite DIY & Kite Painting", the "Shimen Photography Competition", an in-depth "Shimen One-Day Tour", fun challenge games, and the "Local Agricultural Specialty Product Exhibition Area" to get closer to kites, learn more about Shimen, and create lasting memories.
