Traveling to Japan just got easier ! Direct flights between Songshan Airport and Haneda Airport start on October 31

The new direct flights between Songshan and Haneda mark a significant development for Taiwan’s aviation and tourism sectors. Both Taiwan and Japan will operate four daily flights each, totaling eight per day, which will substantially cut down on travel time within Japan. These flights offer great convenience for tourists and business travelers. The newly upgraded Haneda Airport is set to open on October 21, with direct flights to Taipei beginning by the end of the month — an initiative that has drawn widespread attention.

The expanded Tokyo Haneda Airport now has five floors and covers an area of 159,000 square meters — roughly 1.3 times the size of the Tokyo Dome. It features the latest “Passenger Clearance Confirmation System,” as well as eco-friendly systems like “geothermal equipment” and “NAS batteries.” Floors one to three house immigration and departure halls, while floors four and above are home to a vibrant shopping street infused with Japanese charm, featuring a variety of dining, retail, and anime-themed shops. Passengers can enjoy their wait without boredom.

To accommodate the new terminal, travelers heading to Haneda Airport from Tokyo can choose between two transit options — the Keikyu Electric Railway and the Monorail — both of which will begin service on October 21. Daily ridership is projected to reach around 20,000 people. The Keikyu Electric Railway connects directly to the airport terminal, prioritizing passenger convenience. The Monorail takes only 13 minutes from Tokyo’s Hamamatsucho Station to Haneda, and just one minute from the station exit to the check-in counter. Trains run every six minutes and free transfer services are also available.
