Hong Kong and Macau residents can apply for Taiwan entry permits online, with no fees for entry and exit
Taiwan has always been one of the favorite tourist destinations for people from Hong Kong and Macau. With its delicious cuisine and unique attractions, it has great appeal. Starting today, residents of Hong Kong and Macau can directly apply for Taiwan entry permits online, and both single-entry and exit trips are exempt from fees, saving the HK$75 visa fee. This also makes it more convenient for Hong Kong and Macau residents to visit Taiwan for business or tourism, and it is believed to increase the willingness of travelers to come to Taiwan.

Since the implementation of the online application system for Taiwan entry permits for Hong Kong and Macau residents on January 1, 2005, the number of applications has been growing year by year, reaching as high as 341,333 last year, with very positive results and feedback. In order to attract more visitors to participate in Taiwan’s centennial National Day celebrations and the Taipei International Flora Expo in October, among other tourism events, the
Beijing Station Shopping Mall.
After applying for an entry permit to Taiwan online, residents of Hong Kong and Macau can print the approval document themselves and use their Hong Kong or Macau Special Administrative Region passports for immigration clearance. The entry stamp will be affixed on the approval document, which also serves as an immigration registration form. There is no need to fill out an immigration registration form on the plane or pay additional fees to obtain a separate entry permit to Taiwan. The permit is valid for three months, allows one entry and exit, and permits a stay of up to one month per visit. It is expected to attract more tourists to Taiwan and boost tourism development.
