Following the enthusiastic response to its premiere at the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center, the Shaliya Dance Exhibition will be held on October 9th (Saturday) at the Grand Hall of Taipei’s National Father Memorial Hall. Admission is free, and from now until the performance date, the public can collect tickets at the service desks on the east and west sides of the National Father Memorial Hall

The "Dancing Siraya" performance, jointly organized by the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Tainan City Cultural Center, and the National Father Memorial Hall, is the third event in the "2010 Hand in Hand with Siraya – A Journey to Love the Countryside" series. Divided into two acts, the show takes audiences through 13 dance pieces — including "Rippling Waters of the Southern Village," "Golden Rice Waves," "Singing and Dancing Together," "Celebrating the Horse Relay," "Hand in Hand for a Wedding," "Colors of Water and Light," "Morning Mist in the Distance," "Watercock Skimming the Waves," "Rustic Sentiments," "Embroidery," "Good News," "Festivities," and "Thanking the Gods" — guiding viewers to immerse themselves in the Siraya experience through an artistic blend of visuals and sounds.

"Dancing Siraya" is performed by the Taiwan Youth Dance Troupe, whose dancers have an average age of 17. With music and narrative guiding them, they leap, dash, spin, and sway across a thoughtfully designed stage. In addition, to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the Siraya people, the production pays meticulous attention to stage setup, lighting changes, costume coordination, and music selection, achieving near-professional standards. The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration noted that it previously collaborated with the Taiwan Youth Dance Troupe in Tainan County to stage a large-scale dance drama of Pingpu poetry, showcasing the cultural characteristics of the Siraya Pingpu people. This year’s collaboration not only introduces Pingpu culture but also incorporates the shimmering water and sky reflections from the scenic area’s seven reservoirs, the golden rice waves of the Jianan Plain, and the rustic charm of farming communities, allowing audiences to experience the humanistic richness within Siraya’s natural landscape through dance.

The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration has also launched a prize giveaway on its Facebook fan page titled “Share Your Experience of the Dance Show and Win a Traveler’s Notebook.” Members are invited to share their thoughts on the dance performance (in more than 250 words) before October 17. The administration will select 100 lucky winners to receive a Siraya Traveler’s Notebook.
