Who says Fulong is only about sunshine, sea, and bikinis? Visiting Fulong also means enjoying a delightful bicycle ride. This year’s “Riding the Northeast Coast—Fulong Bicycle Joyride” kicked off in September, warmly welcomed by families and tourists. The organizers have even added the “Lovers in the Lens” event. Just snap photos of the beautiful scenery at “Guishan Island,” “Dongxing Temple,” and “Dragon Gate Suspension Bridge,” or take selfies with your bike, and you can win gifts and raffle tickets (while supplies last). Plus, your photos may be featured on the Facebook page of the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration—“Friends of the Northeast Coast”!
“Ah, we’re at Dragon Gate Suspension Bridge—strike a pose quickly!” “The seascape at Dongxing Temple is stunning—I got both the sea and my bike in the shot!” “Guishan Island is so clear—the angle near the bunker is perfect!” These are some popular phrases from participants of the “2010 Fulong Bicycle Joyride,” as energetic visitors from all over pedal their way to health and leave behind charming, delightful moments on the Northeast Coast.
Since the event began, it’s common to see visitors arriving early in the morning, bikes mounted on car roofs, traveling from far and wide to Fulong to experience the classic three-route challenge of the “Fulong Bicycle Joyride.” Many visitors even ask strangers to take photos for them, unknowingly forging closer bonds. When you visit Fulong, don’t forget to capture memorable “images” for the event and share the joy with fellow travelers.
