The Flower Expo goes mobile with hiPage’s “Search Go!”—real-life experiences are all the rage

Following the World Cup restaurant and MOD schedule searches in June, “hiPage Search Go!” officially launched its new “Flower Expo” section in October, allowing iPhone and Android users to access exhibition information and venue details via their smartphones. So far, the app has been downloaded over 150,000 times by users of Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone, Taiwan Mobile, and Vibo Telecom, making it an essential utility app for smartphone owners.

The “Flower Expo” section features over a hundred POIs (point-of-interest data) across four major exhibition zones (Yuanshan Park, Fine Arts Park, Hsinsheng Park, and Dajia Riverside), including exhibition halls, gardening information desks and ticket booths, dining areas, souvenir and retail shops, rest zones, transport info, information kiosks, entrance details, and exhibition hall entrances. Users can upload photos, leave reviews, and share information on Facebook, Plurk, Twitter, and Wretch, so friends can join in the experience too.

Additionally, the app’s augmented reality (AR) search mode offers three methods: camera, list, or map. The camera mode combines AR technology with the user’s live phone camera feed, overlaying store information onto the real-world view. It also includes a radar display showing the relative location of the user to the store, making information on the screen instantly clear. The list mode provides a clear listing of store details and directions, while the map mode shows store info and locations using Google Maps. A prominently designed “golden finger” icon also clearly guides users to their destination, making the information more than just text-based.

How to use: iPhone users can download the app for free from the App Store on their devices; Android users can get it for free from the Market, Chunghwa Telecom Hami, or Far EasTone S Market.
