Bangkok, Thailand to Get Its First TAO Clay Pot Restaurant

Will you soon be able to enjoy TAO Clay Pot in Thailand?! Wang Group recently announced that it will collaborate with Thailand’s Mai Tan Corporation under a licensing agreement to launch TAO Clay Pot in Thailand, which is expected to spark a trend of service excellence in the Thai F&B industry.

Wang Group has recently announced a partnership with Thailand’s Mai Tan Corporation to open the first TAO Clay Pot restaurant in Bangkok. The menu will also be adjusted to incorporate local ingredients.

This marks Wang Group’s first foray into ASEAN, with Thailand chosen as the initial destination for several reasons. Aside from Thailand’s population of 67 million and stable economic growth, the choice of partner was also a key consideration. The collaboration is with Mai Tan Corporation, led by Thailand’s “godfather of F&B,” Mr. Tan Pasakornnatee. Mr. Tan founded the well-known Oishi Group in Thailand, transforming it from a small company with fewer than 50 employees into one with nearly 5,000 staff and annual revenue close to 10 billion Thai baht. In September this year, Mr. Tan stepped down as president of the Oishi Group and established Mai Tan Corporation. He then partnered with Wang Group to launch TAO Clay Pot as the first brand step.

Dai Shengyi stated that the group plans to accelerate store expansion at three times the current pace, with goals set to “reach 1,000 stores by 2020 and 10,000 stores by 2030.” During the preparation phase of the collaboration with Thailand’s Mai Tan, Thai staff will be sent to Taiwan to undergo comprehensive training provided by Wang Group. Meanwhile, Wang Group will also dispatch elite management personnel to Thailand to assist. The first TAO Clay Pot outlet in Thailand is expected to open in Bangkok in the first half of next year. Mai Tan chose TAO Clay Pot because the brand’s Japanese-style concept is believed to be well-received in Thailand, and they also aim to introduce a “service-first” business philosophy for the first time in the Thai market.
