The Silvergrass Season at Caoling Historic Trail Debuts in November
Entering its ninth year, the Silvergrass Season series of events will be launched with great excitement along the Caoling Historic Trail from November 1 to November 30. In addition to stamp-collecting activities at the "Yuwangkeng Hydro Park and Forest Ranger Station" to exchange for gifts, a new silvergrass viewing route — the "Taoyuan Valley–Caoling Line (Wankengtou Pavilion)" — has been added, along with extra value-added small gifts.
The "9th Caoling Historic Trail Silvergrass Season" series not only continues previous features such as the driftwood art corridor displays, stamp collection for souvenirs, blessings at the mountain pass, ginger tea service, rubbing rubbings and DIY traditional toys, as well as photography competition exhibitions, but also introduces many brand-new activities, expected to usher in a craze for autumn exploration on the Caoling Historic Trail.
For autumn travel, consider the North Coast. Whether it’s the romantic golden sands of Fulong in autumn, the vintage cycling tunnel at the Old Caoling Trail, the all-season outdoor camping area at Longmen, or the rare geological wonders of Bitou and Longdong, these spots are perfect for autumn dating, outings, and hiking.
The Caoling Historic Trail is located at the border between Yilan County and Taipei County, stretching approximately 8.5 kilometers. It was an important transportation route during the Qing Dynasty, connecting Tamsui Hall (Bangka) to Kavalan Hall (Yilan), and is part of the Danlan Ancient Trail. It is also one of the few remaining ancient trails from the Qing Dynasty still preserved in Taiwan.
