Singapore’s Top Hotel HOTEL FORT CANNING Grandly Opens
Drawing from the fascinating history of Fort Canning Park, the stylish boutique hotel Hotel Fort Canning (Hfc) has been magnificently transformed from a unique historic landmark within Singapore’s Fort Canning Park and grandly opened on November 1, 2010.
Nestled between the Orchard Road shopping belt, Clarke Quay entertainment hub, and the Central Business District, the hotel features 86 uniquely designed boutique rooms and suites, with opening stay promotions starting from S$275 including breakfast.
The hotel building was once the headquarters of the British Far East Command during World War II. Meticulously restored by award-winning Singaporean architectural firm DP Architects, it retains many original architectural features such as its colonnaded façade, exuding colonial-era nostalgic charm. The WWII-era British underground command center, the Battle Box, holds significant historical importance as the site where British General Arthur Percival officially surrendered to the Japanese invasion on February 15, 1942 — making it ideal for a one-of-a-kind welcome tour.
The hotel’s highlight dining venue is the all-day “modern Asian” style bistro Bistro @ The Glass House, offering a selection of premium dishes from China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and across Singapore. The hotel’s opening promotion offers deluxe suite rates starting from S$275 (plus taxes and service charges), inclusive of breakfast, valid until December 31, 2010.
