Flower Whisper Hot Spring Season in the Mountain City Kicks Off

Do you remember the devastating damage caused by Typhoon Morakot in the Liugui area last year? But after a year of dedicated planning and reconstruction, the Liugui Bridge has been completed. In addition to meeting transportation needs, it has also become a scenic landmark in the northeastern part of Kaohsiung County. A grand completion ceremony will be held on November 13, and the Baolai and Bulao hot spring areas will also launch the "Flower Whisper Hot Spring Season in the Mountain City" on the day of the event.

This key event in the reconstruction area is guided by the Executive Yuan’s Typhoon Morakot Post-Disaster Reconstruction Promotion Committee, and organized by the Third Maintenance Engineering Office of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Highway Bureau, the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Liugui Township Office of Kaohsiung County. The Liugui Township Office will invite local community groups to witness the bridge completion ceremony as part of the celebrations.

This year, the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration, in conjunction with the Tourism Bureau’s Taiwan Hot Spring and Gourmet Carnival, continues to promote the "Flower Whisper Hot Spring Season" in the Baolai and Bulao hot spring areas of Liugui Township. To complement this event, businesses are welcoming all both returning friends and newcomers with their highest-quality thermal springs, health-focused cuisine, the Baolai Welcome Shuttle Bus, and exceptionally attractive accommodation rates.

The Bulao Hot Spring is located in Xinfaxiang Village, Liugui Township, Kaohsiung County. The hot spring water comes from the valley of the Bulao Stream, a tributary of the Laonong River, which maintains high temperatures year-round. The “Liugui Bridge Completion Ceremony and Flower Whisper Hot Spring Season” series of events will officially kick off on November 13 (Saturday). Starting at 9:00 AM, the completion ceremony of the Liugui Bridge will feature the much-anticipated launch of the Baolai Welcome Shuttle Bus. At 1:00 PM, there will be a lively opening ceremony in front of Fangchen Resort on Baolai Main Street. The opening day will use the symbolic “Hot Spring Jar” of the Baolai area as part of the launch ceremony, pouring out the continuously flowing, generationally cherished hot spring water. The ceremony will also feature performances by the adorable Electric-Style San Taizi, the Bunun tribe’s Eight-Part Harmony singing, singer Wang Zhongping, and the band Orion.
