Taiwan has many creative talents, and in recent years, countries around the world have also actively promoted this wave of cultural and creative economy. Therefore, the Council for Cultural Affairs invested one billion NT dollars this year to host the first “2010 Taiwan International Cultural and Creative Industries Expo.” The goal is to connect Taiwan’s cultural and creative industries, discover emerging talents, select top Taiwanese cultural and creative products, and assist them in participating in international exhibitions to market Taiwan’s creative works globally.

The expo runs from November 11 to 14 at the Nangang Exhibition Hall of Taipei World Trade Center, featuring eight exhibition zones and seven thematic pavilions. These include the Theme Area (Design Life, Home Aesthetics, Technology & Culture Pavilion), Concept Area, Local Specialty Area, International Area, and National Image Area. It also includes a sub-exhibition format showcasing cross-strait cultural and creative exchanges.

This edition will feature nearly 700 booths with a diverse range of exhibitors. In addition to well-known brands such as Franz Collection, “Jr. Good” (authorized vendor for the Kaohsiung World Games), museum merchandise developer “Shiang Long,” renowned interior design firm “Taewo International Design,” and 3D ceramic brand “1300 Only Porcelain,” as well as domestic creative brands like Yituo International and Liu Jin Sui Yue, the event also invites unique independent brands such as “Mushroom Design,” “Benshin Taryn,” and “Taike Blue” to participate enthusiastically. Multiple independent Taiwanese fashion designers will jointly present their 2011 Spring/Summer collections. The event is complemented by an international cultural and creative summit forum and a series of fringe activities, offering the public a cross-disciplinary cultural experience.

The concept of “MIT” (Made in Taiwan) cultural and creative products is gradually gaining recognition and affirmation in Taiwan. The Cultural and Creative Industries Expo is free to attend. We welcome the public to come and appreciate Taiwan’s endless creativity and to pay tribute to the hard work of creative professionals.
