A panoramic 360-degree view of the Oga Peninsula: Kanpuu Mountain Observation Deck

Kanpuu Mountain in Oga Peninsula, Akita, features five small volcanoes and two volcanic craters. The road leading to the summit offers scenic views of the surrounding area, while the Kanpuu Mountain Observation Deck at an altitude of 355 meters on the mountaintop rotates once every ten minutes, offering not only a full view of the entire Oga Peninsula but also a 360-degree panorama that includes Ooama Village, Mount Chokai, and Nyudozaki. It's especially a great time to visit during sunrise and sunset, making it a highly popular tourist spot in the area.
The observation deck is open from approximately 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (seasonally adjusted), with an admission fee of 550 yen. In early summer, you can see lilies of the valley dotting the green landscape, and in autumn, the grasses sway in the wind. In addition, the famous Kanpuu Mountain Festival is held here in the fall, where visitors can experience free paragliding and enjoy taiko drum performances.
From Kanpuu Mountain, you can directly gaze upon the entire Oga Peninsula.
