Park trains run every 20 minutes, offering a convenient service that reduces physical exertion. The park trains operate from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a one-hour break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. They make a round trip between each station every 20 minutes. This frequent and convenient shuttle service helps reduce the physical effort needed to walk uphill from the main gate to Zhaoping Station and from Sacred Tree Station back to the main gate.

Recommended itinerary combining forest train rides shortens total time by about 70 minutes. Based on the terrain of the recreation area, the Chiayi Forest District Office has proposed the most efficient route: get off at the parking lot and walk to the train station (about 5 minutes), take the Zhaoping Line train from Alishan Train Station to Zhaoping Station (about 7 minutes), walk from Zhaoping Station through Sister Ponds to Shouzhen Temple (about 50 minutes), then walk from Shouzhen Temple via suspension bridge – Earth God Temple – Giant Tree Trail to Sacred Tree Station (about 50 minutes), take the train from Sacred Tree Station back to Alishan Train Station (about 8 minutes), and finally walk from Alishan Train Station to the parking lot (about 5 minutes). The entire itinerary takes approximately 125 minutes, reducing walking time by about 70 minutes compared to self-guided walking tours.
