Having been held for over 30 years, the Hong Kong Arts Festival has become one of the annual highlights. This year’s 39th edition will grandly commence from February 17 to March 27, spanning 39 days. The 39-day event has invited 38 overseas arts groups and 16 local Hong Kong arts groups to present 225 wonderful performances and activities across 15 different venues.

Mr. Ronald Arculli, Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, said: “This year’s Festival is larger in scale than previous years, with the festival period extended to 39 days. There has been a remarkable increase in the number of tickets and performances, with as many as 18 performances taking place simultaneously on the busiest day. The diverse and captivating programs add even more vibrancy to Hong Kong.”

The program includes music, dance, opera, drama, and special events. Highlights include world-class performing artists such as Cecilia Bartoli, The New York City Ballet, Berliner Ensemble, Elvis Costello, and Marian Seldes; Leipzig’s three major music organizations: Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Leipzig Opera, and St. Thomas Boys Choir; the award-winning play *Murder in San José*, commissioned and produced by the Festival, makes an unprecedented return to the Festival stage for its third performance; the large-scale light and sound installation *Light and Sound Garden* brings the Festival outdoors, engaging the public up close with a fantastical experience of shimmering lights, colorful hues, and harmonious soundscapes.
