Business travel made simple and stylish—design hotels are all the rage!: Dandy Hotel

Dandy Hotel currently has three branches in Taipei: Da’an Branch, Tianjin Branch, and the newly opened Tianmu Branch (opened Jan. 15, 2011), all under the Taipei Hotel Group. There are also nine other properties including New Shang Hotel, Xin Yi Hotel, and Xi Rui Hotel, which have opened successively since 2008. The brand aims to be the meeting point between the “traveler” and the “designer,” hoping guests can unwind here from their usually busy lives.

The various hotels under the Taipei Hotel Group feature distinctly different design styles, offering guests a new surprise at each branch. Dandy Hotel – Da’an Branch is located right across from Da’an Forest Park on Xinyi Road. Pull open the curtains in your room and you’ll be greeted by a vast expanse of greenery. With the future opening of Taipei Metro’s Red Line (Xinyi Line), the area will connect the Yongkang Street and Xinyi District shopping areas, likely sparking another wave of commercial vitality.

As a business hotel, Dandy has been open for over two years with a clientele mainly from overseas. Its decor follows a “MUJI-style” approach, using plenty of wood elements and muted tones. Across seven floors and 73 rooms, six different nature-inspired design concepts are integrated, giving each room a slightly unique feel. Room types include Economy Rooms, Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Luxury Rooms, and Dandy Rooms, priced between approximately NT$2080 and NT$3960 (regular weekday rates). Some room types offer views of Da’an Forest Park and can be reserved in advance.

Additionally, the Taipei Hotel Group has set up “Travel Market (Inn Design Market)” lobbies in each hotel, operating as small creative markets in a “shop-in-shop” format—a rare sight among Taiwan’s hotel industry. These spaces sell exclusive designer creations, souvenirs that are both cute and practical, launched in limited editions on an irregular basis, and are quite popular among domestic and international travelers.
