Macau, the奢华 city that never sleeps, a resort destination where dreams come true

When traveling to Hong Kong and Macau, the focus used to be on Hong Kong, with Macau just a brief “stopover” on the way, featuring nothing more than a cursory shopping and eating spree. However, in recent years, Macau has been transforming itself into a comprehensive resort entertainment city, combining fine dining, large-scale performances, entertainment venues, and shopping all in one. It’s almost like you can satisfy all your food, fun, and leisure needs in a single space. Aside from the well-known The Venetian Macao, the newly launched City of Dreams in June 2009 has been making a strong impact, and Galaxy Macau™ Resort will also open this May, joining the competition.

 

Although not very large, Macau’s rich entertainment and cultural offerings are definitely worth exploring. Especially for those with regular jobs, there’s no need to worry about “arranging” time off—you can make a quick 2- or 3-day trip to Macau, try must-eat snacks and Michelin-starred cuisine, relax with a spa treatment or some shopping in the afternoon, enjoy the latest water-based show in the evening, and then try your luck at the casinos. On Monday, you can return to work as if nothing happened, leaving your colleagues clueless that you’ve been abroad!
