Ride for the Earth: The Round-the-East-Coast Cycling Race Kicks Off on April 16

This year, AMD once again serves as the title sponsor of the Round-the-East-Coast International Cycling Competition. Alongside inviting elite cyclists from around the world to “Ride for the Earth,” the competition will also host a special Earth Day event — “Centennial Year of the Republic · Ride a Bike · Donate NT$100 · Create a Beautiful Green Homeland,” calling on cyclists to raise funds for ecological conservation. The AMD Round-the-East-Coast International Cycling Competition will take place over two days, April 16–17, covering a total distance of over 300 kilometers, with more than 2,000 elite athletes speeding along the East Coast.

This year’s AMD Round-the-East-Coast International Cycling Competition not only boasts a larger scale than ever before, but its most unique feature is the combination of the fast-paced “cycling sport” with the humanistic “environmental protection initiative.” It aims to spread the seeds of environmentalism across Taiwan through the tracks of cycling. To encourage participants in the AMD Round-the-East-Coast Competition to join the “Centennial Year of the Republic · Ride a Bike · Donate NT$100 · Create a Beautiful Green Homeland” campaign, every NT$100 donated on the day of the race, April 16, will earn one raffle ticket. Riders will not only have the chance to win the latest AMD APU platform netbooks but also various AMD-branded gifts.
Cycling is a leisure activity that is both healthy and environmentally friendly.
Those unable to attend the race in person can also participate by visiting the AMD Green Facebook fan page. By faxing a donation receipt and leaving a comment on the AMD Green fan page, they may receive an autographed, soon-to-be discontinued limited-edition AMD cycling jersey from AMD Green Ambassador Wei Huaxuan. All proceeds from this campaign will be donated in full to the Society of Wilderness as an ecological conservation fund.
