The latest situation of Thailand's floods: Most tourist attractions remain unaffected

Excessive rainfall during Thailand’s rainy season this year has caused flooding in some areas. Currently, the impact on tourist regions is minimal, with most major attractions frequented by visitors remaining undamaged and operating normally. Floodwaters are currently mainly flowing through Bangkok, primarily in areas near the Chao Phraya River, but most of Bangkok remains unaffected. Other Thai provinces, including those in the northeast, east, west, and south, have not been impacted. The Nine Emperor Gods Festival, being held in five southern provinces (Krabi, Phuket, Trang, Phang Nga, and Ranong), will proceed as scheduled.

Certain provinces in central and northern Thailand have experienced flooding due to seasonal heavy rains, such as Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Nakhon Sawan, Pichit, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, and Uttaradit. Meanwhile, the flood situation in Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, and Kamphaeng Phet has improved. Although parts of Ayutthaya Province are currently flooded, major tourist spots such as the ancient city, Wat Chai Watthanaram, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Ayutthaya Floating Market remain unaffected and continue normal operations. Only a few attractions outside of Ayutthaya Province have been temporarily closed due to rising water levels. Wat Tha Ka Rong remains open as usual.

All airports in Thailand are operating normally. Train services from Bangkok to the north are currently only available up to Lop Buri, with services further north temporarily suspended. Train services in other regions are operating as usual. Passengers wishing to cancel trips to areas where train services have stopped due to flooding can receive a full refund from the State Railway of Thailand. Travelers planning to visit flood-affected provinces are advised to check the latest weather forecasts and confirm that transportation arrangements are running smoothly before departure.
