Bringing together creativity from over 34 countries, the Taipei World Design Expo opens

In 2007, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, represented by the Taiwan Design Center, won the bid to host the "Design Conference" in Taipei, standing out among 19 cities from 13 countries around the world. After five years of preparation, the Taipei World Design Expo brought together participants from over 34 countries, more than 1,200 domestic and international designers, and over 6,000 exhibits. The expo featured three main exhibition areas: Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Nangang Exhibition Hall, and the World Trade Center Hall 1.

The first to open was Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, with the exhibition running from September 30 to October 30. Covering an area of over 4,000 ping, in addition to the theme exhibition "Design Clash," there were also international exhibitions such as the "International Industrial Design Exhibition," "International Graphic Design Exhibition," "International Interior Design Exhibition," "International Craft Design Exhibition," and the "Asian Cultural and Creative Crossover Exhibition." Set within the historic and cultural site of the Songshan Tobacco Factory, the exhibition allowed visitors to experience not only the fresh wave of creative energy gathered here but also the unique atmosphere blending past and present.

Additionally, to help visitors better understand design, 115 VIPs and on-site guides were arranged, with over 60 guided tour points distributed across various exhibition areas to provide detailed explanations about the products, exhibition spaces, and designers’ concepts. Admission to the exhibition is free during the exhibition period. In addition to the six major international themed design zones, there are daily design discussion events open for public participation.
