1. Shilin Official Residence
Conveniently located, the Shilin Official Residence can be considered the backyard garden of Taipei residents. Recently, besides enjoying vast rose fields, you can also admire plum blossoms. Originally home to 30–40 plum trees, the government has planted an additional 55. Now, the plum blossoms are gradually in full bloom. No need to go far—come to Shilin Official Residence to catch the elegant sight of plum blossoms.

2. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
Starting this weekend (the 14th), the “Playful Blossoms – 2017 Chiang Kai-shek Plum Blossom Festival” kicks off. In addition to viewing plum blossoms, there are also art appreciation, tea tasting, and craft workshops. On February 11 and 19, free guided tours titled “Spring Garden Fun” are also scheduled to explore secret plum blossom spots.

3. Kappan Mountain Retreat
Originally the retreat of former President Chiang Kai-shek, the Kappan Mountain Retreat covers about six hectares, with two hectares dedicated to a plum orchard—the largest in northern Taiwan. White flowers dot the treetops, and from afar, the mountain is covered in a sea of blossoms. The picturesque scenery combined with the light floral fragrance is truly enchanting.

4. Shihmen Reservoir
Aside from viewing the green maple forest and the bald cypress, you can also enjoy plum blossoms at Shihmen Reservoir in winter. The reservoir area has about 50 plum trees, mainly concentrated around the central toll station at the Longtan entrance. While the plum blossoms are gradually blooming, you can take a stroll along the reservoir’s walking path around the lake, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the water and mountains.

5. Plum Grove Waterfront
Located in Xinshe, Taichung, about a half-hour drive from downtown Taichung, this approximately 2-acre leisure park and homestay is themed around plum groves. The highlight is the intermingling of ancient architecture and plum trees. Reservations for accommodation are required for free admission.

6. Salmon Grape Plum Blossom Tunnel
Located in Fuxing Village, Xinshe, Taichung, there is a Plum Blossom Tunnel, with nearly 100 plum trees planted along both sides of the path. These trees, nearly 50 years old, create a breathtaking sea of white blossoms when in full bloom. Along the way, you’ll also pass a small bridge that makes for great photo opportunities.

7. Liujia Plum Garden
Liujia Plum Garden is situated on the mountainside at an altitude of 1,000–1,500 meters in Xinyi Township, Nantou County. The cultivation of plum trees here has a century-long history, as it was originally the home of green plum production. Spanning 500 hectares, the plum garden boasts an unprecedented, densely blooming snowy-white spectacle when the flowers are in season. Admission is free, but the area can get congested with traffic during holidays.

8. Wusong] Shijia Plum Garden
The owner manages Shijia Plum Garden and Yousong] Forest Vacation Camp, offering accommodations, camping, and dining services. Strolling through the pathways between the plum trees, you’ll find a pond below that’s perfect for taking reflection photos. The garden’s biggest highlight is the planting of rapeseed flowers under the plum trees, where the yellow blossoms add a lively contrast to the white plum blooms. Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to support the venue through purchases.

9. Meiling Scenic Area
With an altitude of about 500–1,100 meters, the plum blossom season here runs from December to January each year. Meiling features a concentrated and abundant planting of plum trees, totaling around 200,000. Walking along the Wulong Trail or Meifeng Trail offers a particularly immersive experience of being surrounded by plum blossoms, and you can also enjoy distant views of the Zengwen Reservoir, making for a truly enchanting sight. There is no admission fee, making it a great spot for families to enjoy a healthy hike while admiring the plum blossoms.
