New team takes over Yilan Cultural and Creative Park; reopening on the 21st with tickets at NT$150

After more than three months of closure for renovation, the Yilan National Center for Traditional Arts has undergone a management team change and will reopen on the 21st with the “Tradition Lantern Festival.” Ticket prices remain the same at NT$150, and during the event period, the combined cost of the event ticket and entrance fee will not exceed NT$250.

Originally scheduled to reopen to the public on January 1, the Center was postponed to the 21st due to delays caused by Typhoon Megi and the rainy season, in order to enhance service quality. Coinciding with the Lunar New Year, the Center will also host the “Tradition Lantern Festival” from January 21 to February 12, featuring a 65-meter-long fish lantern tunnel—the longest in Taiwan—made with 1,500 blessing lanterns, as well as lanterns painted by schoolchildren from 12 townships in Yilan County. During the event, 3,500 lanterns will be lit every evening at 6 p.m., accompanied by folk dance and acrobatic performances. Residents of Yilan County can enter the park for free in the evenings during the event period by bringing their own lanterns.
