The twisted world of *Inception*—Turkey’s sci-fi fan’s Flatlands series

The distorted space in the movie *Inception*, with its super magical scene stunts, is absolutely fascinating. A sci-fi film enthusiast from Turkey has used a highly creative approach to turn everyday sights into stunningly fantastical effects.

Aydin Büyüktaş is not only a photography enthusiast but also a tech fan. He often wonders what it would look like when a black hole distorts the space and time of Earth, so he created the Flatlands series.

How exactly were these photos taken? In fact, each image in the Flatlands series is composed by blending over ten aerial drone shots to achieve such a grand effect.

Aydin also traveled to various locations to capture unique landforms, adding an extra layer of sci-fi flair to his works. Even ordinary houses you pass by every day can be transformed into this. What if he shot the urban landscape of Hong Kong?
